Dear Friends,

“And whatever things you ask in prayer believing, you will receive.”

Matt. 21:22

Our little Boca friend

I know many of us have increased our prayer lives during the past months, due to the pressing needs and struggles around us. The Lord uses times of pressure to enlarge our faith and strengthen our trust. The key is staying on our knees and keeping our eyes on Him rather than the circumstances that encompass us.

Will and Kathy from our church

Since most of you on our mailing list know us, and we have a history together, we feel at liberty to share our current situation. During the past three years working in Mexico, we have been supported financially by our church and a small circle of friends. The current economic environment has made it difficult for everyone; and therefore, giving to our ministry has diminished. We look to the Lord, but we feel free to share with you that unless our income increases, our time and ministry here will be limited. We refuse to doubt or be fearful for the future, but ask you to join us in believing for the Lord’s provision, and then to give as He directs you. Twenty-five dollars per month covers the cost of about 20 school lunches, $20 buys 14, and $15 buys 10

Bottom line, if you believe what we are doing is from the Lord and is helping the people in our area, then please help us at this time to continue.

Let me conclude with two stories that recently occurred:

San had been wondering in her heart if we were having any spiritual impact on the children. That week, a father of one of the boys spoke to her and said his son had begun praying before their meals.  He told his family that Randy and Sandra prayed before they served lunch, and he now had learned how to pray.  His father also asked us if they could borrow some Christian music CDs, because his son loved them. Needless to say, San was greatly encouraged.

Randy at Boca Kindergarten

During the tourist season, we often have people who want to come with us to serve, sometimes giving gifts to the children. A Canadian lady has been with us the past three weeks. She had been complaining about her inability to sleep and how it was becoming a real problem. This week on the way home from Quimixto she said, “I have been sleeping so much better lately. Since I started serving the children, when I wake at night, instead of worrying, I see their little faces and have begun to fall back to sleep almost immediately. I believe serving others is changing my life!”

We agree. Serving others is what each of us is called to do. Please pray about what the Lord might have you do in helping us to continue helping the children.

Love and blessings, Randy and Sandra Barr
