Dear Friends,

Jesus said:

“For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father Who sent Me
gave Me a command what I should say and what I should speak.”

John 12:49

Recently, I spoke to a Men’s Conference here in Puerto Vallarta. My topic was “Intimacy with the Father: Jesus, our Example”.

As I studied God’s Word, it was amazing to see Jesus’ utter dependency on hearing and doing only what the Father revealed to Him through the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ love and intimacy with the Father flowed from His prayer life. He was in communion with God, the Father. We have the same opportunity in our walk today. We have the same Holy Spirit (Romans 8), the same hours in our day. The question is: Do we truly desire to know the Lord and to walk in His will? Jesus’ promise of an abundant life, as opposed to worries, anxieties, pressures, and problems, should be sufficiently enticing to cause us to set aside time to get to know Him through His Word and prayer. This process has provided the daily peace that sustains me in times of turmoil.

I encourage you to ‘seek the Lord while He may be found’. Give Him time to speak to your heart and direct your steps by the inward peace He offers. We all face difficult days because our world is broken. In the midst of the mess, LISTEN to the Holy Spirit, READ the Word, and you will come away with a message, a message of hope. Remember Matthew 11:30 “[His] yoke is easy and [His] burden is light.”

Thank you for your continued giving and faithful prayers. We appreciate both as we feed and care for the kids. We recently completed Easter week vacation and were ready to see how everyone was doing. Our cooks were on the job, the kids were happy to see us and life moves on at the slightly slower, less predictable pace of Mexico.

We continue to have visitors who go to the villages with us. They always enjoy meeting the kids, speaking a few words of Spanish, and finding a way to serve. Several brought soccer balls, used clothing, and school supplies. The reality is, anything people bring, the kids can use and are grateful. Spiral notebooks and crayons are much more expensive in Mexico than in the U.S. or Canada.

We recently provided lots of Midweek Church School coloring books to Vero, the local church’s teacher. We are blessed doing what we do, but realize we couldn’t do it without you. There are days we are challenged and our faith is stretched, but it is those seasons that cause us to continue to grow. May we desire to mature in God’s will ‘til the day we see Him face to face.

Love, and blessings,

Randy and Sandra Barr
