It doesn’t seem possible that school is beginning and summer is fading away! The years seem to slip by like a flat stone on a calm lake. Soon it will be Christmas and another year is in the books. Let’s seek to use our time wisely. I must admit, with the Olympics on TV, I’ve certainly spent too many hours viewing sports I wouldn’t normally give a minute to watch, i.e. synchronized swimming, handball, etc., etc.
We do pray you had a peaceful vacation and caught up on some quality family time. Regretfully, our family reunion never materialized this year. With all of our kids going in different directions, we couldn’t get it together.
In July, we enjoyed attending and celebrating the High School graduation of Fabian, from Boca de Tomatlan, the grandson of our faithful cook, Mere. It was so wonderful to see many of our students and their parents at the graduation and baccalaureate services; like a reunion of our last 10 years here with the people we have touched through the school lunch program. We were honored to be invited to the ‘Club de Leones’ (Lions Club) for the banquet and dance afterward.
We are preparing to begin our 11th year of Caring for Kids in Mexico. We look forward to meeting our new kindergarten students and to seeing how much the others have grown. We want to again thank you for your faithful support. Your finances and prayers make it possible for us to do what we do. You are in our daily prayers; so if you have specific needs, let us know and we will believe for answers together.
Love and blessings,
Randy and Sandra Barr
