Dear friends,
The greeting used by the early church after Jesus’ resurrection was: “He is risen!” To which another would respond: “He is risen indeed!”
We trust you had a joyous Easter season. I pray you were spiritually renewed and refreshed in your faith, and were reminded how much God loves you.
We have had a busy schedule the past several months. A number of visitors and friends have been coming to Puerto Vallarta, with most of them visiting our school lunch program.
We were happy to collaborate with two other groups on a project recently. One of our condo friends organized with the International Friendship Club of PV to make about 150 bears by folding hand towels over a bar of soap, making ears with elastic hair bands and adding faces. Very practical and cute! With the help of Christ’s Church in Bucerias, Nayarit, through their Saturday lunch program for children, we distributed over 50 bears. Through that program, the children are fed, taught English, and receive Bible teaching. The recipients were from a small town referred to as Cardboardlandia or Cartonlandia, because many of the homes are, or were, just that. The children were thrilled and expressed loudly their appreciation with hugs for all the volunteers who joined in the distribution.
Another day, we were able to give Spanish-English Dictionaries, donated by friends, to our school in Boca de Tomatlan.
I continue to preach in three locations of a fairly regular basis and find real satisfaction in sharing God’s Word.
In March, Sandra spent a week in Texas visiting our new grandson, Griffin Matthew Benton, son of Matt and Emily, and Greyson’s new brother. He seems to be exceptionally handsome, amazingly intelligent for his age, and spiritually alert; but then I’m just his Grand Dad. We now have our own Little League team of grands: 9 boys and 1 Princess, the Manager.
We will be in the Chicago area for the 40-year Reunion of Fountain of Life Church, our former church; and also for the wedding of our Luke to Brianne! To top it all off, our Barr Family Reunion will take place around these dates. We look forward very much to re-connecting with many of our friends and family.
God bless you all. We have prayed for those of you who sent requests.
Love,
Randy and Sandra Barr
