Dear Friends,

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:24-25

To grow in our walk with Christ, we need one another. Church may be a large gathering on Sunday, but we still need at least one or two friends who truly know us as we are, good and bad, and yet accept us with an unconditional love that challenges us to do better, seek the high road, and to become more intimate with the Lord. I am so grateful for and attribute to a few good friends any progress I’ve made over these past fifty years of walking with God. They’ve known my strengths but equally my weaknesses. May God grant such Treasured Friends in your life as we press on.

San and I recently returned from Muskogee, Oklahoma. Contrary to Merle Haggard’s song, I was told there are indeed those who “smoke marijuana in Muskogee”. We visited great friends, their family, and I spoke to their Church, The Bridge. What a fun, fruitful weekend. Exceptional worship band of professionals, loving people, and too much good food. Despite the cool weather, we had a terrific time.

Our work with the schools continues to grow, as does our love for the kids and communities. The village of Quimixto surprised me with an amazing Fiesta for my 70th Birthday. What a time! I had made Sandra promise not to give me a party, but Quimixto didn’t get the memo. It was a great celebration together with the whole village, including an excellent Mariachi Band, lunch for all, and beautiful cakes!

We are so grateful for the cooks and helpers who have served with us these thirteen years. They could almost run the program by themselves; but it is you, our Faithful Few, who give to supply the needs, and also who’s prayers supply our Strength. There will be a reward for you in Heaven! “…He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6. All of us are blessed, loved, protected, and provided for by a gracious Father Who accepts us as we are, and strengthens us to move higher.

Love and blessings,
Randy and Sandra Barr
